Festival is a celebration of the life and music of Thomas Jefferson Jarrell
(1901 - 1985). The Surry Arts Council sponsors this event to celebrate Tommy
and the Old-Time Music culture of Surry County. The Festival is held in Downtown
Mount Airy at the Historic Earle Theatre & Old-Time Music Heritage Hall.

BUDbreak WINE FESTIVAL May 4, 2013, Noon - 6:00 p.m.
The fourth annual wine festival offers wine tastings and sales from 15 North Carolina wineries, multiple food vendors, local artists and musical entertainment. Proceeds from the event will benefit charity organizations supported by the Mount Airy Rotary Club, who partnered with the Downtown Business Association in order to host the event.

It showcases the fashion available for purchase in local downtown stores, and benefits Flat Rock Elementary Dragon Pack. This is a Flat Rock Elementary School program that fills the backpacks of underprivileged students with a food supply for the weekend.
