TOMMY JARRELL FESTIVAL February 26, 2015 - February 28, 2015 The Annual Tommy Jarrell Festival is a celebration of the life and music of Thomas Jefferson Jarrell (1901 - 1985). The Surry Arts Council sponsors this event to celebrate Tommy and the Old-Time Music culture of Surry County. The Festival is held in Downtown Mount Airy at the Historic Earle Theatre & Old-Time Music Heritage Hall. The 2015 Tommy Jarrell Festival events include Old Time music and dancing demonstrations, workshops, and a photo presentation and music by legendary musician and historian David Holt! TRI-MAYBERRY SPRINT TRIATHLON April 19, 2015
Tri-Mayberry is a charity run presented by the Mount Airy Rotary Club and Reeves Community Center Foundation. Proceeds will support Rotary Projects at home and abroad along with scholarships through the RCC. FIDDLE CRAWL REVEAL EVENT Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Historic Earle Theatre
Join us for the REVEAL of 12 new fiddle sculptures for Downtown Mount Airy. Sculptures are designed by local artists, and will take their places on the sidewalks of Main Street in May. The Fiddle Crawl Reveal Event will be held at the Historic Earle Theatre featuring the music of the Mountain Park Old-Time Band. This is a FREE event. BUDbreak WINE FESTIVAL May 2, 2015, Noon - 6:00 p.m.
The fourth annual wine festival offers wine tastings and sales from 15 North Carolina wineries, multiple food vendors, local artists and musical entertainment. Proceeds from the event will benefit charity organizations supported by the Mount Airy Rotary Club, who partnered with the Downtown Business Association in order to host the event.

ROCK THE RUNWAY FASHION SHOW

Rock The Runway is an annual fashion show held in Downtown Mount Airy at Old North State Winery. It showcases the fashion available for purchase in local downtown stores, and benefits local food/backpack programs. These are school program that fills the backpacks of underprivileged students with a food supply for the weekend. The parade will host a Food Drive in support of Foothills Food Pantry. Bring canned goods and non-perishable foods to help our friends in need. A collection box will be located in the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History courtyard during and after the parade. Artists will be demonstrating their craft with painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, photography, and more. The Holiday Art Walk coincides with the Downtown Holiday Open House and the Holiday Tour Homes. Downtown streetscapes and storefronts will be decorated for the Christmas season.
